About the Authors

Mair Honan—Born NYC, Maine transplant for 40 years, she is married and a mother of two grown sons. Having worked as an RN in hospital and community settings, a counselor and therapist in recovery programs, county jail and private practice. After seminary and ordination in the UCC church she co-founded Grace-Street Ministry in Portland, Maine and worked for 12 years on the street with people on the fringes. She has a poetry blog,  Allone.home.blog, and has published a book of reflections, Walking in the Realm of Miracles. Free Solo is her first novel.

Judith Blanchard—A Californian by birth and college education, Judith spent much of her childhood in the Bangor, Maine area, and since 1994 “came home” to Freeport after years in Philadelphia and Wasington, D.C. Her four plus decades of ministry in the United Church of Christ have been in parish, family therapy, psychiatric chaplaincy, seminary administration, and 23 years as Chaplain Clinical Leader at Maine Medical Center. Judith is an avid cyclist and gym rat. She has ridden the Trek Across Maine in support of the American Lung Association for nearly twenty years. Her daughter and four grandchildren live in Denver.
