Love for a Ghost is a heart-rending tale of an orphaned dog, Ghost, and his sister, Winter, abandoned in the desert southwest. As they set out on a journey in search of their mother they discover that they can heal their experiences of abandonment and mistrust and allow love into their life. Love for a Ghost seeks to remind us it is only through love’s absence that we discover how important love is.
About the Author
Debbie is a dog lover, social worker, and the new author of the memoir, Love for a Ghost. Her adopted rescue dog, Ghost was the inspiration behind this story. Despite her claims that it was never her intention to author a book, she insists that she received Ghost’s story unintentionally through their many desert hikes together. She would rush back to her car and jot down story pieces on scraps of paper. And in the end, this book was to become Ghost’s story.
Debbie was born and raised in Maine, but has lived and traveled throughout the world. She has practiced as a licensed clinical social worker for several decades, with the focus of her experience in Attachment Disorder.
Debbie currently resides in Tucson, Arizona with her husband Mark and their exceptionally wonderful friend, Maggie, one of the many rescue dogs she and her husband have had throughout their lives together.
