About the Author

Robert H. Kahn is a retired architect living in Portland, Maine. For decades, he has spent summers patching and repairing a small old house outside Annapolis Royal, Nova Scotia. He is grateful and indebted to his friend, Elissa, for artistically constructing life and contextual imagery to this story.

About the Illustrator

Elissa (Scott) Della-Piana is an alumna of the Rhode Island School of Design and has been illustrating a wide variety of works for over 65 years, and has been a friend of the author for over 50 years!

She has never been a seafaring maiden herself but is very fond of cats!
